| Window Seat |
[17 Jul 2009|03:03pm] |
Hi all, I have a white wooden window seat and white gauze-y drapes, and I was wondering how to decorate it? Any suggestions or photos of window seats (preferably white) would be so much help! Thanks in advance :) :) :)

| Another re-do |
[17 Jul 2009|01:44am] |
Hiya, I'm Jess. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio, and I've posted here twice before: one, two. Same bedroom, several much needed improvements. I've been slowly but surely making my room more organized and sophisticated (I guess). My latest renovation is color—I painted two accent walls. My parents built our house, so every room has classic New House White walls. After nine years, I finally woke up one morning and said, "I NEED TO PAINT." Here are the results.

| bedrooms with damask wallpaper |
[16 Jul 2009|09:41pm] |
Hey, I'm a long time lurker of ourbedrooms I'm planning on redoing my room very soon. I really want to have an accent wall with damask wallpaper, but I'm having a hard time envisioning what to do. Does anyone have a room with damask wallpaper? What kind of colored walls did you use along with the wallpaper? I'm also interested in the damask that is not just black and white and what kind of furniture and decorations (posters, pictures etc) you incorporated into the room.
Anything would be great. Thanks!

| advice desperately needed! |
[16 Jul 2009|05:05pm] |
EDIT: this post changed considerably since the time I posted it; now my dilemma is painting and curtains and accent colors!
I've been planning my bedroom "revamp" (as I've been calling it in my delicious tags, haha) for a while now, seeing as at the end of the summer I'll have a large chunk of money I can devote to brand new furniture and bedding and paint, etc., none of which I've ever had brand new.
so I have to ask some advice! it'll be behind this cut because it has huge images. :)
( images. ) my problem is I can't decide on a color for the walls - I love any and all color and that's part of the problem! I don't know what would go well with all this furniture. in the same vein, I want to paint all of the furniture I buy the same color, but I can't decide on that til I decide on a wall color and what would maybe look best on it. ):
any advice? all of this will be transported to an apartment in a year, as well, and it's all black and white so I don't have to ever commit to a color palette. :)
thank you so much! I'd love to hear feedback.

| wall art/decoration? |
[16 Jul 2009|08:24pm] |
hey everyone - i was just wondering what your favorite things to put on your wall as decoration are? i've seen post-it, polariods, posters, etc. maybe post your favorite picture of a wall decoration? i'm looking for things other than posters for some inspiration - but anything will do!
also, i really want to decorate one of my walls with pictures of owls - and i was wondering if anyone wants to draw me owls and send them to me in the mail? they can be little kiddish drawings, or if you've got skills - something a little nicer! i'd LOVE a wall of random people's drawings :)

| Vintage Flop Bunny |
[18 Jul 2009|02:12am] |
This little bunny has had a difficult beginning in life; his first 40 years or so were spent in the unfortunate position of a pair of stockings. What happened to him before he found his way to the vintage store is a mystery; but as soon as I saw him, I knew that he needed to be freed from his previous functional use; to find a form more pleasing to the new life that he deserved.
Made from primarily recycled materials, save for the new thread and stuffing, this little bunny would make an adorable addition to any animal collection. His eyes are sewn securely and should not, to the best of my ability, prove to be a chocking hazard. I have trusted toys of this type to everyone from newborn infants to adults, and have had no complaints. :)
This gray fabric is reminiscent of the velveteen rabbit, without, of course, the velvet. ;) Though the flop bunny had a difficult start, he doesn't want to be judged by his past. He is desperately searching for someone full of love and compassion, possibly even someone who appreciates his recycled skin, and understands that his fluffy center is as soft and cuddly as any NEW bunny.

I finally picked up some of that fabric-fusible-whatever stuff (you can tell I've been formally trained, ha) and did some applique on some baby clothes! The great thing about having a baby yourself is you can craft out the whazoo, post your stuff for sale on Etsy, and when it doesn't sell, use it yourself! It's strange to hope your things don't sell sometimes.
Here's one (click to make it big)...

God that is funny.
Feel like trying out a love ritual?
“There is no quality assurance about the kind of men or women you will attract, and you may attract both men and women. It is up to you to make wise choices about anyone with whom you become involved. But you are always free to say no – the point is that you are increasing the number of people you attract.”
Toolhaus will show you all the negative feedback on an Ebay seller if you ever doubt the authenticity of an item. SO USEFUL!

I loved the Christian Louboutin/Rodarte collaboration — you might remember beautiful shoes covered in spikes from a while ago. Well, a very enterprising young lady DIY’d some & shows you how. I think it is my next project.
Alber Elbaz knows what’s up.
“The people I chose to run my new store in London are nice. I cannot work with b*****s, I can’t, I can’t. Maybe I am too sensitive, I get blocked. There are some people who don’t give a damn. With me, I find that if there is no energy flowing or no connection, I can’t think. Talent is amazing — I love it, appreciate it. I respect talent a lot. But if you ask me, ‘Talent and b***h, or less talent and good?’ I’ll go with less talent.”
HOLLA.
I am obsessed with celebrity real estate. I think it is SO interesting to see the kind of homes people buy.
Yann Gross’ Horizonville photo series is fascinating. NSFW, though, there are some boobies!
